Dakshinam – Authentic Telugu Cuisine & Catering in The Colony, TX

I have eaten at Dakshinam a few times in the last couple of months, and it’s always been a fantastic experience. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful. The staff is friendly and genuinely cares about providing great service. Recently, I decided to have Dakshinam cater a party for about 40 people, and they absolutely exceeded my expectations. The ordering process was smooth and professional, delivery was right on time, and everything was perfectly set up. Most importantly, every single guest raved about the food! The flavors were just as amazing as dining in the restaurant, which is not easy to pull off for a large group. Whether it’s a casual dinner or a special event, Dakshinam never disappoints. I highly recommend them for both dining in and catering — you won’t be disappointed!

Good veg thali have been here twice. Dal, and curries, fresh poori naan and flavored rice. Regular portions of rice and other accompaniments like Rasam sambar and curd. The food really felt close to Telugu food. Deserts can be improved

We went in for a quick lunch. The hostess was very welcoming, we asked if our daughter can sit and eat the pizza in the restaurant that we got from outside. They happily agreed to that. We ordered the vindu bhojanam, it was amazing. Just like home. The outstanding dishes for me were the dosakai pachadi, boondi laddoo and biryani. It tasted out of the world. The owner came out and checked with every table about how the food was, for me that shows how passionate they are about running the restaurant. We didn’t like one item, when we gave the feedback he happily accepted the review. Another owner came out and checked with us if we want to pack any food for our daughter. She was very sweet and warm to talk to. I would definitely recommend this place. I haven’t seen any restaurant in Dallas who came and checked on us. That personal touch is what keeps you in business for a longer period.

Visited here for dinner on Saturday evening . Opted for the Non veg Thali for the adults & chicken noodles for the child. The mutton curry was the best followed by shrimp masala. All the other delicacies on the thali were good. The plain rice as well as the biryani is served as well as part of it. This food reminded me about home cooked food with minimal oil & good taste. Also note this Thali was unlimited but we were filled with the initial serving itself. The child liked the noodles. It was well made. Nice ambience do give it a try if you are in that region.

Hidden gem in the colony area. Tried take out special veg biryani, Panner biryani and gobi Manchuria. Our family enjoyed the food. I am happy gobi Manchuria is the best I tasted in Plano/ frisco area. Definitely a place to retreat for nice food. Biryani quality and quantity is very good with appropriate levels of spices and taste.
